The powerful story of Besnik and Julius was presented in the documentary film “Return to Kosovo,” which follows the journey of British journalist Julius Strauss and Besnik Deliu, a five-year-old who survived a brutal massacre during the war in Kosovo.
More than two decades after their first encounter, Julius and Besnik reunited to uncover the full truth of that tragic day. From war-torn Kosovo to the Canadian wilderness, this moving film explored loss, resilience, and the lasting impact of war.
In February, at the Reporting House, a discussion was held following the screening of the film, focusing on the consequences of war and the power of human connection.
Julius Strauss, Leman Kamberi, and Vaughan Smith, who were involved in the making of the documentary, were present and participated in an open Q&A session with the audience after the screening.
