Vita Kasapolli

Vita Kasapolli (born in 2001 in Kosovo) is a contemporary artist based in Prishtina. Since 2020, she has been co-curator of the artistic programme of the Anibar International Animation Festival. In 2022, she worked as a cultural mediator at Manifesta 14, leading guided tours for more than 500 local and international visitors. She subsequently continued her cultural mediation practice through the educational programme of the National Gallery of Kosovo.

Having grown up in a country shaped by prolonged conflict and its aftermath, Kasapolli situates her artistic practice within the sociocultural dynamics of a society undergoing rapid transformation, where individual and collective identities are shaped by complex historical experiences. Her work explores interpersonal relationships across different geographical settings, from rural and urban environments to metropolitan spaces and historical contexts, particularly those spanning the past century. Examining how these broader contexts intersect with the formation of personal identity, she translates her observations into artworks using found materials, mixed media, photography, video and printmaking.
