100 Years of Trepça / 1 Year of Reporting House

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Trepça and the first anniversary of the opening of Reporting House, 500 raw and luminous crystals donated by Trepça itself are being installed in the premises of this cultural center in Prishtina. This symbolic installation represents a powerful tribute to the industrial heritage, economic history, and social identity that Trepça has held for Kosovo. The placement of these crystals calls for remembrance and continued attention to the importance of this institution and its impact on society’s development.

Artists and organizers emphasize that this act is not just a visual exhibition but a strong message about the continuity and preservation of Trepça’s values. Gazmend Ejupi, the artist and one of the project initiators, explains that mounting the stones on wire holders creates a theatrical atmosphere that draws attention to the challenges and potential Trepça still holds as a community and as a symbol of resistance before and after the war. He stresses that this institution’s greatest wealth is its history and the staff that keeps it alive.

Besides being geological wonders, the crystals serve as witnesses to human struggles and symbols of clarity and light that Trepça has brought over the centuries. This installation at Reporting House stands as a living reminder of the importance of preserving the history and values of one of the most significant names in Kosovo’s industrial and social heritage.
