Today, we held a training session for youth on the role of German media during and after the Kosovo war, with Vjosa Çerkini, a journalist from Kosovo working at Deutsche Welle.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about the impact of German media during the war and Vjosa’s personal experience as a Kosovan journalist working for a German outlet. They also watched video reports produced by German media, like ARD, about Kosovo between 1998–1999, which are exhibited at the Reporting House.
Using these video materials, participants gathered historical facts and practiced their journalism skills by drafting short news pieces based on the content.
This activity was carried out in cooperation with the German Embassy, which supports BIRN in Kosovo.
