The Story of Blood Feud Reconciliation – Havë Shala, Myrvete Dreshaj & Murteza Kurti

On July 29, 2025, at Reporting House, a special commemorative and documentary event took place, highlighting the voices of women and men activists who, from within the prisons of the 1980s, initiated one of the most significant social movements in Kosovo’s history: the Blood Feud Reconciliation Movement.

Havë Shala, Myrvete Dreshaj, Shqipe Bytyqi, Ramë Tali, Ilir Bytyçi, and activist Ibrahim Dreshaj shared their personal experiences—stories never before told, absent from school textbooks or history books, yet essential to our collective memory.

The event featured original archival footage filmed by cameraman Murteza Kurti—a direct witness to that period and a valued contributor to Reporting House. These visuals added a vivid and emotional dimension to the guests’ testimonies.

Around 150 participants attended the event, honoring the legacy of these activists and listening closely to voices of courage, resistance, and social transformation.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who joined us and contributed to preserving this important part of our shared history.
