Besa Llugiqi is a soprano from Kosovo, born in Prishtina in 1986. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Prishtina under Professor Ahmet D\u00ebrguti before pursuing a master\u2019s degree at the Faculty of Music in Skopje, where she studied with Professor Maria Muratovska. Since 2012, she has worked with renowned opera singer Christina Anghelakova in Sofia. Llugiqi is also a soloist with the Kosovo Philharmonic.<\/p>\n
She began her operatic career in 2011, making her debut as Li\u00f9 in Giacomo Puccini\u2019s Turandot<\/em> at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana. Since then, she has performed on opera stages and at international festivals, taking on leading roles from the classical repertoire. These include Donna Elvira in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2019s Don Giovanni<\/em>, Lauretta in Puccini\u2019s Gianni Schicchi<\/em>, Mim\u00ec in his La Boh\u00e8me<\/em>, Lucia in Gaetano Donizetti\u2019s Lucia di Lammermoor<\/em>, and Violetta Val\u00e9ry in Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s La Traviata<\/em>.<\/p>\n In 2013, Llugiqi won the Grand Prix at the international Elena Nikolai<\/em> opera singing competition in Bulgaria, earning recognition for the quality of her voice, musical sensitivity, and expressive performances.<\/p>\n In 2018, she made her debut at the Baltic Opera in Gda\u0144sk, Poland, singing the title role in Tha\u00efs<\/em>. The following year, she performed the role of In\u00e8s in Giacomo Meyerbeer\u2019s L\u2019Africaine<\/em>, in a production presented in collaboration with Deutsche Oper Berlin and directed by Vera Nemirova. Her repertoire also includes Marguerite in Charles Gounod\u2019s Faust<\/em>.<\/p>\n Beyond opera, Llugiqi has enjoyed an active concert career as a soloist, performing major works for voice and orchestra, including C\u00e9sar Franck\u2019s Messe in A<\/em>, Gabriel Faur\u00e9\u2019s Requiem<\/em>, and Mozart\u2019s Requiem<\/em>. She has given concerts and recitals in cities across Europe and beyond, including London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Tokyo, Amsterdam, and Zagreb.
