The Oscar-nominated documentary War Photographer (2001) was screened at Reporting House.
The film offers an in-depth portrait of American war photographer James Nachtwey. The first thirty minutes follow him as he documents the aftermath of the war in Kosovo, presenting rare footage that reveals his working process, ethical dilemmas, and the emotional weight of conflict photography.
The film includes valuable footage from Krusha e Madhe and Gjakova, at a time when these areas were filled with journalists, photographers, and forensic teams, alongside direct testimony from the post-war period. At the same time, it presents a sensitive portrait of a dedicated and restrained professional, widely regarded as one of the most important war photographers of our time.
The screening was presented with subtitles in Albanian and English.
